The Losers

I want to take a moment to defend my current favorite comic series from the nay-sayers. "The Losers" is a action-espionage-thriller with some elements you may have seen in movies or television before. So what. This series puts a fresh spin on the genre and takes it places never explored in other media. One review I read said that the characters were narrow, underdeveloped, and shallow. It went on to say the the reviewer had only read 2 issues. Well there you have it; One of the great things about this series is the careful time it takes in telling it's stories. It's certainly not a one issue:one story comic book. The smaller story arcs are usually about 6 issues long, and the larger arc seems like it's only just getting started (up to number 27 now). So, if you are interested in this book, I recommend the 3 collected trade paperbacks (graphic novels) entitled (respectively), "Ante Up", "Double Down", and "Trifecta"....pretty sure those collect up till about issue 20 or so. Pictured here is the cover to issue #26.
